I am my mother’s daughter

by | May 6, 2013 | Life

While growing up, my brother and I used to tease my mom relentlessly when she’d fall asleep in the chair while watching TV. When we’d turn the TV off, she’d always wake up (that never failed) and fuss at us saying she was watching that program. Right…watching TV straight through her closed eyelids. I know it was the fact that all sound was absent that caused her to awaken, but we still enjoyed teasing her. To this day we bring that up.
Last night, I was exhausted from a week of running around at the RT Booklovers’ Convention in Kansas City, MO. I went upstairs to my bed, lay down, and proceeded to take a two hour nap. I woke up when my husband finally closed our bedroom doors and all sound stopped. Seriously. Complete and total quiet had me immediately waking up, wondering where I was, trying to figure out what was going on. Yep, I am my mother’s daughter. 🙂
